University of Miami School of Law
The University of Miami School of Law, situated on the expansive 260-acre main campus of one of the largest private research universities in the United States, offers a unique environment that blends diverse perspectives and abundant opportunities. Founded in 1928 by Dean Richmond Austin Rasco, who previously served as dean at Stetson College of Law and as a professor at the University of Florida, the law school quickly established itself under his leadership. Dean Rasco played a pivotal role in securing approval from the Florida Supreme Court and laid the foundation for the law school’s early success. His contributions included significant advancements in the law school’s library, acquiring a substantial portion of the volumes needed for full accreditation. Dean Rasco’s legacy continued to shape the institution until his passing in 1931.
