About the Program:
The Bank Internship Program (BIP) by the World Bank offers a chance for highly motivated individuals to experience the mission and work of the organization. It provides an opportunity to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and research experience into the Bank’s work while enhancing skills in a diverse environment. Internships are available in both development operations and other business units.
Eligibility:
- Must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (master’s or PhD).
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of other languages is desirable.
- No age limit.
How to Apply:
Applications must be completed by 11:59 PM UTC on January 31. Prepare your application with accurate personal information and upload a Curriculum Vitae (CV), Statement of Interest, and Proof of Enrollment in a graduate degree. Ensure you use a supported browser and have a stable internet connection. Complete the application within 90 minutes.
Stipend:
Interns receive an hourly salary, and where applicable, an allowance toward travel expenses up to USD 3,000. Interns are responsible for their accommodations. Positions are mainly in Washington, DC, with a few in WB country offices.
Selection:
After the application period, qualified applicants’ profiles are shared with WB units interested in hiring interns. After interviews, selections are made, and the new BIP cohort joins in early May.
